Q: What is this blog?
A: A directory of anime-related blogs on tumblr. You can view our full directory here.
Q: What kind of blogs do you list?
A: We are always on the lookout for anime-related tumblrs that focus on one specific character, canon, theme or person. Even if it’s a general anime tumblr, some focus is good.
Q: How do you find all these blogs?
A: Basically, by looking for them. We use Search It!, Google site search, tumblr’s tagging/search features, and sometimes just checking to see who reblogged whom. And of course, we have other means besides these ones…
Q: Why didn’t you include this one blog?
A: It’s not always possible to find all the blogs dedicated to a certain series/creator/studio/theme, which is why we encourage people to suggest blogs.
Take, for example, Pokemon. Let’s say that there’s a tumblr dedicated to Ekans. However, the url is something irrelevant, the description doesn’t mention Ekans or Pokemon (or there is no description), and the author doesn’t add tags to any of the pictures. It exists, but how can we find it?
Also, we’re looking for blogs that are at least 95% about one canon, creator, series etc. The odd cat picture is fine, but if the blog has posts on Hetalia, Utena, Dr. Who and House, followed by rage face guy…there’s nothing wrong with that, but that’s not the type of blog we’re looking for
Q: Can I submit a blog?
A: Sure! Drop a link in our ask or submit forms and we’ll look at it. Be sure to mention what series, canon, creator, etc. the blog is dedicated to.
Q: Can I submit my own blog?
A: Sure, why not?
Q: How often do you update?
A: We queue posts and update the directory index every weekend.
